Grandmum horrified to find body of grandson in her attic after he had been missing for two years

 A grandmother was left horrified after she found the mummified body of her missing grandson in the attic of her home.

Dyquain Rogers was 21-years-old, when he went missing on November 1st, 2014.

Neighbors, friends, and family members searched tirelessly for him, holding search parties, and pleading to the public to help them find their loved one.


Wednesday, his body was discovered when his grandmother heard something fall up against the attic door.She called for help, to her home at 25th and German, and that's when what is believed to be his body was discovered.Investigators believe it to be a case of suicide.

Coroner Lyell Cook tells WICU 12 News. Erie News Now there are no signs of foul play, and it appears to be a suicide.

But his mother, and friends say this discovery comes as a shock.
For the past two years, they had thought, and even hoped that he had just left town, "I just kept pretending like he just left Erie, so I just kept focusing on that, that he left here, that's what I kept saying," said Carol Rogers, Rogers' mother.

"I didn't expect him to be anywhere in this vicinity," said Rogers' neighbor, Cornell Nixon. "I just thought when I heard about him missing, I was like 'wow D-Q's gone, where did he go? He seems like he could protect himself," Nixon continued.
His final few Facebook posts suggest he was unhappy about something, with one posted on October 31st 2014 reading: 'I have been having the worst luck lately'. The next day was the last day he was seen alive.

The investigation is ongoing, but investigators say at this point, there are no signs of foul play.

Rogers' mother tells Erie News Now finding her son's body is bringing her some closure.
