Cloth Dealer Caught With $1.4m Drug On His Way To Cambodia
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has arrested a cloth merchant with 4.4kgs of methamphetamine worth $1.4miilion at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. He was on his way to Cambodia.
This is the first seizure of the year at the airport and the first consignment going to Cambodia. The 40 parcels of drugs, was concealed inside foodstuff, and were detected during the outward screening of passengers on an Ethiopian Airline flight.
The 47 years old suspect, Ifeka Charles Obi, from Oba Idemili South LGA of Anambra State, said he had been promised N1m payment by his “sponsors”.
According to him, he lost everything he ever had due to family problems and that it is first attempt at smuggling drugs.
