Partner of police officer killed in Manchester bomb 'doesn't yet know she died'

The partner of an off-duty police officer killed in the Manchester Arena terror attack doesn't know she is dead, family have said.

Cheshire Police officer Elaine McIver, 43, was waiting with partner Paul Price, 43, to pick up his daughter when they were caught up in the suicide bombing.


Terrorist Salman Abedi claimed 22 lives and wounded 119.Elaine could not be saved and Paul remains seriously ill in hospital.

Paul's father John, 79, said when his son met Elaine "an angel walked into his life" and that the happy couple had just been making plans to buy a house together.

He told the Daily Mail:

 "Paul is still under sedation and we dread the moment he finds out Elaine didn’t survive.He doesn’t know she is gone yet.We are devastated beyond belief."
