Two young children have been found dead after locking themselves in a hot car, their mother has said.
The 16-month-old boy and two-year-old girl were found "unresponsive" in the vehicle, police said.
According to CBS news, the mother said her children "took off" at some point in the afternoon. She searched the area, which is largely rural, and eventually found them locked in a four-door vehicle.
She was forced to break a window to get in but it was too late, the mother said.
Emergency services were called but both children were pronounced deceased at 4:33pm local time from suspected extreme heat exposure.
It comes after a seven-month-old girl died from suspected heat exposure after being accidentally left in a car by her father in Ireland earlier this week.
