Nine tourists thrown off flight after one shouted 'Allahu Akbar' as a joke

Nine holidaymakers were kicked off a plane heading to Spain after one of them shouted "Allahu Akbar" - and said there was bomb onboard.
The nine were boarding the packed Ryanair flight as it was due to leave Zaventem airport in Brussels for Madrid at 7am.
The man thought it would be fun to shout the term which translates as God is Great.

But the plane was grounded for several hours as sniffer dogs and the bomb squad scoured every inch looking for a suspect device. All passengers and crew were ordered off during the scare, and their luggage was off-loaded too.

Nothing was found and the plane was eventually allowed to leave at 9.25am, without the nine 'jokers'.

Police confirmed the incident to the local news channel VTM NIEUWS which says the nine men were all of Belgian nationality.

Peter De Waele of the federal police told the news channel: "The flight commander refused to take these nine people.

"One of them was a foolish joker and called 'Allahu Akbar'
