Barely five years of marriage, a 40-year-old businessman, Mr Nicholas Johnson has approached an Igando Customary Court, Lagos, to dissolve his marriage over alleged threat by his wife to set him ablaze.
Johnson said that his wife, Adeshola, 35, often accuse him of infidelity and threatened to set him ablaze.
He, therefore, begged the court to end the marriage, saying that he was no longer in love with his wife.
Reacting to the allegations, Adeshola said that she accused her husband of infidelity because he was always in the company of a particular woman.She also denied threatening to set her husband ablaze.
Adeshola also denied packing her husband’s belongings while leaving their matrimonial home.
The 35-year-old trader also denied abusing or raining abuses on her husband, adding that she always respect Johnson.
The mother of two, however, consented to the dissolution of the marriage saying she was no longer interested in the marriage.
The President of the Court, Mr Adegboyega Omilola, adjourned the case until Oct. 24 for further hearing

“Whenever I go out and come back late, she will accuse me of being in company of a woman.He said that his wife packed some of his belongings while packing out of their matrimonial home.
‘’When I received a call, she will say I am talking to my girlfriend and she will fight me.
“In fact, I can no longer talk to a woman again,” he said.“My wife does not have regard for me, she always rain curses and abuses on me. Most time, she talks to me as if she was talking to her son.”“Adeshola often threatens to pour a keg of petrol on me and set me ablaze.”
“My wife carted away my food coolers, freezer and my bag that contained all my documents.”
He, therefore, begged the court to end the marriage, saying that he was no longer in love with his wife.
“Please, divorce this loveless marriage before Adeshola will carry out her threat of setting me ablaze.”
