Upon being taken to the hospital, CT scans showed her skull was broken and fractured in several places and her upper and lower jaw was severely damaged, with several fragments of bone floating around.
The accident also left her with a severe eye injury, which had her left eye found inside her nasal cavity, reports say.
Authorities say her injuries were severe because she was not wearing her seat belt.
An ophthalmology surgeon posted the pictures onto medical website. His post read:
“A trauma work-up revealed a traumatic brain injury with intracranial haemorrhage, a traumatic eye injury requiring enucleation, and extensive facial fractures.
“This CT shows her completed facial reconstruction. Thanks to a dedicated multidisciplinary team, the patient is now ambulatory and recovering well.”
