OAP, Others Arraigned for Murder Of 17-Year Old

Oriyomi Hamzat, a radio presenter in Ibadan, Oyo state, was on Tuesday arraigned before a Magistrates for the alleged murder of a 17-year-old boy.

Police arrested the defendant after the body of the young man was found in his car.

According to reports, the deceased was an orphan raised in an unregistered orphanage home, which allegedly belongs to the suspect.

Idowu Ibrahim, 27; Mohammed Bashir, 31; Taiwo Olaronke, 23; and Yusuff Ajisafe, 23 were also arrested alongside Oriyomi, they were arraigned on two counts of conspiracy and murder.

The prosecutor, Sunday Fatola, told the court that Hamzat and others on July 21, 2017, at about 4am, in the Oremeji Agugu area of Ibadan, conspired together to commit murder.

He explained that the suspects unlawfully caused the death of the victim by inflicting an injury on his head and body.

The magistrate, A. A. Adebisi, ordered that the accused be remanded in the Agodi Prison pending the release of legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.

The matter was adjourned till September 5, 2017.
