Jolie's alleged encounter with the embattled film executive took place inside a hotel room when her 1998 movie "Playing By Heart" — released by Weinstein's Miramax studio — was released, she told The New York Times as part of a bombshell report published Tuesday.
"I had a bad experience with Harvey Weinstein in my youth, and as a result, chose never to work with him again and warn others when they did," Jolie, 42, told the newspaper. "This behavior towards women in any field, any country is unacceptable."
Paltrow shared a similar narrative, telling the Times that Weinstein, 65, came onto her after enlisting her to star in her breakout film, "Emma."
The actress, who was 22 at the time, says Weinstein had her come up to his room inside a Beverly Hills hotel for a work-related conversation, but ultimately put his hands on her during the meeting while proposing they go into the bedroom of his suite for massages."I was a kid, I was signed up, I was petrified," Paltrow, 45, told the newspaper.
Paltrow, who was dating Brad Pitt at the time, reportedly detailed the incident to the actor, who brought it up to Weinstein.
Weinstein then threatened her to keep quiet about their encounter.I thought he was going to fire me," Paltrow added.
